(Note: these applications require Adobe Acrobat®. You may get Acrobat here if you do not already have it installed.) Be aware that many of the license types use the same application. Follow the directions on the application to fill it out properly.

 

Short-term licenses are valid for the period specified on the license.

State Fishing — 1 Day (basic): Statewide fishing for residents during the one-day period specified on the license (does not include fishing in designated trout waters). $5.00

Annual licenses are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. (Note: All annual licenses use the same application form.)

State Fishing (basic): Statewide fishing for residents during a license term. $15.00 State Hunting (basic): Statewide hunting for residents during a license term. $15.00 State Trapping (basic): Statewide trapping for residents during a license term. $25.00 Combination Hunting and Fishing (basic): Statewide hunting and fishing for residents during a license term. $20.00 County Fishing (basic): Fishing within the County of residence during a license term. $10.00 County Hunting (basic): Hunting within the County of residence during a license term. $10.00 County Trapping (basic): Trapping within the County of residence during a license term. $10.00 Comprehensive Fishing: Statewide fishing for residents during a license term. Also includes the privileges of fishing in designated trout waters and fishing in trout waters on game lands. $20.00 Comprehensive Hunting: Statewide hunting for residents during a license term. Also includes the privileges of hunting for big game, hunting with primitive weapons during the special seasons, hunting on game lands and hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp). $30.00 Sportsman: Statewide fishing and hunting for residents during a license term. Also includes the privileges of hunting for big game; hunting with primitive weapons during the special seasons, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), fishing in designated trout waters and fishing in trout waters on game lands. $40.00 Special Fishing Devices (basic/non-commercial): Authorizes the taking of nongame fish from inland waters during designated seasons with nets, traps, gigs, reels, spear guns, baskets, bow and arrow, and any other authorized special fishing device. Includes the sale of these nongame fish. Taking of nongame fishes with bow and arrow is authorized under any of the licenses providing basic hunting or fishing privileges. $10.00 Special Fishing Devices (basic/commercial): Authorizes the taking of nongame fish from inland waters during designated seasons with nets, traps, gigs, reels, spear guns, baskets, bow and arrow, and any other authorized special fishing device. Includes the sale of these nongame fish. Taking of nongame fishes with bow and arrow is authorized under any of the licenses providing basic hunting or fishing privileges. $100.00

Lifetime licenses are valid for the lifetime of the license holder.

State Comprehensive Fishing: Statewide fishing in all public waters including designated mountain trout waters. $250.00 State Comprehensive Hunting: Statewide hunting, hunting for big game, primitive weapons, hunting on game lands and hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp). $250.00 Sportsman (ages 12 & older): Statewide hunting and fishing, hunting for big game, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), and fishing for mountain trout. $500.00 Sportsman (ages 1 - 11): Statewide hunting and fishing, hunting for big game, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), and fishing for mountain trout. $350.00 Sportsman (under age 1): Statewide hunting and fishing, hunting for big game, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), and fishing for mountain trout. $200.00 Special Sportsman (age 70 or older): Statewide hunting and fishing, hunting for big game, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), and fishing for mountain trout. $10.00 Disabled Veteran (basic): Statewide hunting and fishing for residents who are 50% or more disabled veterans, as determined by the Veterans Administration. Includes fishing in designated trout waters and fishing in trout waters on game lands. Does not include any other special licensed hunting activities. $10.00 Totally Disabled (basic): Statewide hunting and fishing for residents who are totally disabled (physically incapable of being gainfully employed). Includes fishing in designated trout waters and fishing in trout waters on game lands. Does not include any other special licensed hunting activities. $10.00 Disabled Sportsman: Statewide hunting and fishing, hunting for big game, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), and fishing for mountain trout for those who are 50% or more disabled veterans, as determined by the Veterans Administration, or an individual resident who is totally disabled. $100.00 Special Fishing License for Legally Blind: Statewide fishing and fishing in mountain trout waters for those who have been certified by the Dept. of Human Resources as being legally blind. No Charge

These annual licenses authorize particular hunting or fishing activities and must be obtained in addition to the appropriate basic license (listed above). These privileges are valid for 12 months from date of purchase unless otherwise noted. (Note: All Additional Annual Resident Privilege licenses use the same application form.)

Big Game Hunting: Needed to hunt deer, bear, wild boar, and wild turkey. Also allows Primitive Weapons Use during special seasons. License expires June 30 of each year. $10.00 Game Lands: Needed to hunt or trap on game lands. $15.00 Waterfowl Hunting: Needed to hunt waterfowl. $10.00 HIP Certification (Federal requirement): Needed to hunt migratory game birds (waterfowl, doves, rails, gallinule, snipe and woodcock). No Charge Special Trout Fishing: Needed to fish in designated mountain trout waters. Covers trout fishing on game lands. $10.00 Hunting/Fishing Guide: Needed to guide others for a fee. $10.00 Controlled Hunting Preserve: Needed by resident to hunt foxes or pen-raised game birds on a licensed commercial hunting preserve. This license may be used without a basic hunting license. $15.00 Falconry: Needed to hunt by the use of any raptor. Call (919) 661-4872 for an application.
